15 or so of my RL friends and i started in darkhaven during prerelease. Several more of our friends and family are trying to join us. Its telling them the server is full. I saw some earlier posts saying to just make a char on a different server and watch for an opening since transfers are free. But now thatits been a couple weeks since release is this still the best plan? Havent things kind of settled down by now? Should we try and get everyone transfered off or wait it out..? Is there somewhere we can see which servers are full so we can watch it for them? Some of these ppl are a bit less technologically capable.. Like my mother in law.. Lol

ive searched the site (youd assume it would be under account info…) and googled for 20 minutes – how do you world transfer?!?

You can perform a server transfer on your Character selection screen. I don’t recall the exact name of the option but I believe it’s “World Select”, found in the lower left corner of your screen.
After you’ve done that, it’ll let you know how generally full the servers with words like “High” and "Full’. I don’t believe we can find out exact numbers quite yet though.
The plan you mentioned is a little risky, since if a server says it’s full, it won’t allow you to transfer there.
I imagine they’re still sorting things out not too long from now, since they’re still in the process of trying to balance the queue system for World vs. World
I agree with Veeber that you should probably transfer now while it’s free.

Rather than hoping that space will open up on Darkhaven, you should consider moving away from the Full server to join your friends and family on less full servers. In the end space might not open up, and you might end up waiting too long to be able to join them for free.

Or log in to the new server mid morning when nobody is online and transfer.

I’m also in a similar situation I just bought the game today just so I could play with a bunch of friends. they’ve all played since pre-launch and are well established on Storm Bluff isle. It says that server is “full” and i can’t create a character there . Since the only reason I bought the game was to play with them am i screwed ?

I’m confused by what Renegadeimp said If i log into the game off peak hours i can make a character on Storm bluff isle even tho it’s full?

My other question is when i go to make a character on a server it says “permanent home” does that mean for all my characters? i can’t try out the game on another server with one character and then make a character on a different server if a spot opens up on the server that i actually want to play on? I’m kind of feeling overwhelmed even before i actually play the game

You can make a character or transfer your existing ones to any server that is not marked as full. If you log on in off peak times, youll see that your destination server is usually set to medium or high.

I know of a few people that have done just that, i order to beat the system.

Make your character on another server for now, then when the other server isnt marked as full, go to the server select screen, use a free transfer, log out and wait a few mins, and it should be ok.

That will be the case eventually, but currently while things are stabilising, you can transfer for free once every 24 hours.
