Q:

I played GW1 for years, then stopped. I linked accounts and got 5 HoM rewards (and nice set of Heritage armor skins), but is it worth it to go back to GW1 and collect more achievements?
TBH, I’ve gotten spoiled by GW2 game style of playing, and find GW1 tedious and boring. All of my guild mates quit playing GW1 months and months ago.
Thoughts?

If you JUST want the rewards, it might be difficult to play GW1 through for the HoM points. Since you’ve played it before, you’ll have to judge if you want to put up with the time to get a few skins/titles/achievement points.

If you don’t like playing GW1 then it’s definitely not worth it. I loved GW1 so much that I enjoyed all 3 of my GWAMM’s and 50/50’s adventures. I don’t think I could do it again because it makes me so depressed seeing a dead game.

If you still aren’t sure, go back do 1 normal mode mission you don’t have masters on, if you can with stand it and say “this is actually fun” then you should take baby steps and play it maybe every other day and just do 1 mission or 1 vanquish or 10 skill captures. I would recommend playing a melee profession (derv, war, sin) or a mes. I feel they have the most dynamic combat comparatively to GW2

Now I am I gonna go on GW1 and play it a bit…..oh the nostalgia, I wuv u gw1 Q.Q

I admit I don’t go back often but whenever I do I see a lot of people in GW1, so I definitely wouldn’t call it a dead game. (Although it helps a lot that I switched from the European districts to the American ones since that seems to be where most people are.)

OP: If you played it for years you might well have the items/titles required for several more points and just need to add them to the hall (even with titles you have to go there and manually add them before they’re counted) so I’d recommend checking that at least.

But unless you really want one or more of the rewards it’s probably not worth going back to a game you don’t enjoy. I recently spent about a week farming gold so I could get another armor set in order to get the Flameseeker title, but I did it by repeating some of my favourite vanquishes so it didn’t feel like farming. I do like and use the items in GW2 but I don’t think they’re worth playing content I don’t enjoy.
