GW2 laptop
hmm HP… i have a negative experience with that brand. they overprice everything.
however, i did look up the laptop and i hope youre not going for it because of the exterior look.
have you ran into the dell 7559 model? if not, check it out.

No I just though the specs were somehow good bit I’m not sure how the game would run on it.
And is because someone is selling it for $500
i haven’t been up-to-dated of when the 10xx series of the mobile gpus will come out but have you look in that? sometimes its worth waiting a couple of months for a fresh gpu.
other than that, $500 is not a bad deal. however, on the long run it might not be a good investment. the lifespan of that gpu could be over in a year or so, depending on your usage, compared to a laptop that might cost $200-300 more but will keep you satisfy for a couple of year in the long run.
Hi would this laptop run gw2?
HP star wars 15 an051dx
6th gen core i7 – 6500U 2.5ghtz
8g ram ddr3
NVIDIA GeForce 940m 2048 megabytes
1tb
Thanks in advance.
You should be alright. I have the i7-6700HQ, 960m, and 16gb of RAM on my laptop and it runs GW2 great on (mostly) high settings. It gets a little warm, but that’s to be expected. I would suggest getting a decent cooling pad and tinkering with the graphics options. You probably won’t want be able to turn them all the way up but you should still be able to play it and have it look half decent.
Also, darkaheart is right… I would just cough up a couple hundred more and get something a little more future proof, if you can swing it.

If you are getting it for $500 used, I guess it’s a decent price. HP has a bad reputation, but so does Acer, which is the laptop I sometimes use to play GW2 when away from home (I normally use my desktop computer to play as I am not a proponent of laptop gaming tho). Everybody said Acer was crap, but the laptop is over 4 years old and still working. The only thing I ever had to fix was a key on the keyboard that came loose. Then again, if you can cough up some more cash, there are always better options as mentioned above that will run the game much smoother than what a computer with a GT940M might.
You could definately look at the Dell Inspiron i7559. Its supposed to be a beast of a laptop with enough power to run GW2 pretty comfortably. Im thinking of getting it. Its has up to date graphics card and alot of memory space aswell. Also i dont think you can get a better budget Gaming laptop then this since its only at a mere £800 , and for the specs you are getting, phew! thats a bargain!! Also if you are going for something less pricy, the MSI GL62 is also a good choice
