Gas Mask or Karka Shell Back piece
keep in mind the karka shell backpiece is currently bugged and cannot be upgraded to ascended
I would choose what ever item looks better on your chracter. I love the gas mask but it doesn’t fit my characters look.

I personally like the Karka shell more. Choose whatever you like more
It’s personal taste, really. I love the gas mask far more than squiggly tentacles sprouting from my back. It’s versatile with many looks, it dyes fantastically, and it’s one of the few full-face covers you’ll find.

It’s pretty unique if you’re a light armour profession.
Personally, I like neither of them as they don’t appeal to me aesthetically. That being said, I did see someone who put together a really awesome outfit that made their character look like Master Chief
