Hi,

Just wondering what everyone else does regarding gathering tools. I’m getting pretty tired of swapping between different gathering tools and having to check which tool to use to gather which particular ore ect.

Just wondering what other people did, do you just buy the tools from the gem store or just use Orichalcum version to collect everything or do people just have 5/6 different types of axes/sickles and swap between?

I just get the best tool and use for everything, the price difference is too insignificant to justify the struggle to keep remembering to change it (I missed so many oris and ancients because I used a lower level tool) also bag space isn’t cheap.

Thanks, I was thinking about doing the same I’m bored of going through them all the time and having them clogged up my bag space. I’ve missed loads too when I’ve not had correct tools on me like getting to dungeons and stuff.

If you can wait until December and assuming they don’t remove them (which seems unlikely) the Wintersday gifts drop Frostbitten toolboxes each of which gives you 1 top tier gathering tool, which also has a chance to drop tiny snow flakes.

Last year I ended up with a stack of 250 of them without much effort and that was more than enough to last me all year.

Alternatively you can buy Ori or Mithril tools and use them for everything, but the winterday ones are free so there’s no chance of feeling like you’re wasting them.

When I first started and was dirt poor, I would use the cheapest tool for the job. Then I got a bit of coin and only use mythril tools because I was rarely in Orr.

Now I have a set of gem store tools and don’t care anymore.

I use perma tools on several character
I use orichalcum tools on all lvl 80’s and from the moment where i can when I level
I use frostbitten tools when I have some boxes lying aorud and the correct one pops out.

I never use lower tier tools, as I prefer to not thik and just have to worry about a backup for the ori tools on character. As ori tools cost 4 silver means 4 copper a hit. so for any material better then copper, orichalcum tools are ok. But if I need copper I’ll use either a perma pick or just buy the stuff from the TP…
