Is there somewhere that has reviewed all the released permanent gathering tools?

I know about the Watchwork Mining Pick and the sprockets, but I thought I had read that some of the other tools have faster animations that make gathering or logging go faster.

So, what are the “best” tools (ie. most efficient or profitable).

And to make this a little more fun, what are your favorite tool “effects”. I really liked the volcanic like effect of the Molten Alliance Mining pick when it first came out, but it’s getting a little old.

Watchwork pick for the sprockets

Consortium Sickle or Molten Sickle for fastes animation. They don’t make you
kneel, you use them like a golf club more or less. On the other sickles from the
shop you can however interrupt the animation as soon as you see that you
have your herbs if you move, so in that case they are also a little faster.

Logging axes are more or less the same, just different skins and some have a
channeled animation like frostwarp and bone axe.

I have them all except for the newer little robot ones.

I find them all much of a muchness as far as speed goes. It’s the sound effects and animations that get to you after a while if you do a lot of gathering. There are some days I really want to strangle the clown that laughs while you harvest – it is not available at the moment. That one and the thresher one are my least favourites. The others I barely notice any more.

They all take the same amount of time to harvest/gather materials, so there’s no need to get a specific one for “efficiency” reasons. The Watchwork Pick is the best pick to get because of the sprockets. You could just go with whichever sickle and axe you think has the coolest animation.

And, for the record, I love my clown sickle.
