Hello all,

I just hit 80 yesterday, and am still in lvl 60-70 yellows. I would like to know how to go about getting good looking, 80 exotics efficiently. I only have 9g to my name. My plan is, pick out a mixture of dungeon armors i want, then do the explorable dungeons until i have it all. Then sigil them up, and wear them until i can afford berserker armors, to then transmute my dungeon sets onto. From here, I will be decked out in the stats and looks i want, and I will then have fun with dye colors.

Is this plan the usual? is it too ambitious for some reason, maybe i need more 80 gear before attempting some explorables? Also, I’d like to know how/where I can get rings, accessories, and bag that have good stats as well.

For warriors specifically (My class), I’m planning on mostly berserker armor, and knight trinkets, etc. maybe one peice of knight armor for a bit more tankiness. Any thoughts, suggestions? I like greatsword/sword horn for now, so thats what im basing this off of.

TLDR: How do i gear a fresh 80 for the first time?

Thank you for your time guys.
Zorothe

With 9 gold I’d likely look into getting level 80 rares and then start working the dungeons, by the time you have the dungeon gear you want you should also have enough gold saved back up to purchase the exotics you want.

i would do what aly says its usually the best plan and what mo+st players do if you really want to take easy way out you can always map explore places that are 70+ you tend to get at least 1 exotic you lvl and a bunch of mats and work on exploration if you haven’t already you can also do Jumping Puzzles at lvl 80 you have a better chance of getting rares and exotic your lvl when you complete them

I think you should do what you feel will keep you entertained/goal oriented. IMO, you don’t NEED rares/exotics, so long as you’re a good player. Of course, it’s good to get them asap, but if you join dungeon groups, they won’t murder you (AC/CoF 1/2)
Also, since you’re going for specific stats, check the dungeon armors first. Not sure if you know, but some of the dungeon armor stats could be Berserker, since each one has 3 sets. This’ll save you a bit of work.
Jewellery is best to just craft or buy off the TP for exotics. Since you’re doing a lot of dungeons, you’ll probably find some dungeon trinkets, but most often they’ll be masterwork (I’ve only gotten two rares from my numerous runs).

From start, you can start “farming” AC tears. It’s level requirement on explorable mode is just 35. All you need to do is find a good group and tada! Cash.

It’s a good dungeon to practice skills, like dodging (Kholer, path 1 and 3 boss), team coordination (path 3).

Send me a pm in-game if you want to join a run. I do it everyday, and if i haven’t done it yet, feel free to tag along.

the most fun you`ll have in this game is exploring the entire world

if you 100% all the maps you will have enough gold and materials to craft yourself in full exotics

to all the people who recommend grinding dungeons, I recommend them to go play wow, they don`t understand GW2

This is a good guide to help you get your head around gearing your first level 80.

As aly said, I always buy cheap 80 rares and then start to farm dungeons. I have a jeweler so I just crafted all my exotics.

You can also use karma vendors in Orr if you have enough karma, you’ll need 42K karma per piece.
