Gem skins useless early on?
If it’s an OUTFIT, you don’t need to worry, because you simply wear outfits over your armor, so changing armors doesn’t impact your outfit looks.
If it’s an ARMOR SKIN, you are correct … if you want to see yourself in that skin everytime you get new armor, you need to transmute your skin.
Yes you would have to reskin every time you got new armour.
I’d strongly suggest holding out until you reach level 80.
That being said, when you purchase a skin it goes into your wardrobe meaning you can use it over and over again, as long as you have transmutation charges (which you get a decent amount of just for playing the game).
If there was a limited time skin you wanted to purchase you should do that now. Once you purchase you receive a physical item that will allow you to apply the skin for free (the first time), so you could just hold onto that.
If constantly changing armour bothers you, or if you don’t like the look of a lot of the low level armour then you’re probably best getting an outfit from the gem store.
As Obtena said these are worn over your armour, they have no effect on your stats but they ‘hide’ and replace the look of the armour with a single costume that remains consistent regardless of what equipment you’re using. (You can also switch between any outfits you’ve purchased or back to your armour at any time for no charge.)
The other options are to buy a gem store armour set (make sure it says it’s light armour, as that’s the only kind your necro can wear) and keep using Transmutation charges (which come from login rewards and map completion or can be bought from the gem store) to keep changing it, or level up as quickly as you can.
Levelling is pretty quick in this game anyway, and once you’re at level 80 there’s a very high probability you’ll get one final set of equipment and stick with it for a long time since there’s no “gear treadmill” where you have to keep upgrading to better and better stuff. There’s also a lot more armour skins available to you in-game at level 80 (including all the ones from lower levels) which gives you more options to play with.

Okay thanks alot guys!
