Guild Wars 2

There is a chest in the northern part of the map, behind the vista beside the waterfall. It’s tucked away behind a rock and doesn’t seem to be interactive. Anyone know if it’s just decoration or does it have a purpose?

It is near there, but it is not the chest you are thinking of. Just go to that vista and look behind the rocks that are north of the vista. Should be a small chest in the crevice.

Funny that I come across this old thread today – because I found that chest today myself.

As noted, it was not interactable, but I wondered, should it be?

I found an unmarked way point between Divinity’s Reach and the location of the starting zone today.

So unless it’s being reported as a bug so it can be fixed it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was just another portion of miscoding…

That’s just decoration right now.

You can see chests just like that one all over the place. It’ll be nice if there was some scavenger hunt related to them, as there are some that stand out because of where they are, but there’s nothing to them right now.

I’ve seen many of them, but right now it comes to mind the one in the secret base’ of the Destiny’s Edge fan kids in Shaemoor, next to the dam.
