Drunken Alliance [DKAL]
Piken Square [EU]
Hey everyone,
You might have guessed from the title what this thread is going to be about… I’m getting a bit bored of Guild Wars 2.
What I really want is to find a class which is good, and just stick with it, learn loads about it, master it, gear it and just play the fk out of it, but I just can’t seem to find a class which is what I like.
So here I am trying to ask you guys a few questions.
What do you reckon I should do to try and find it a bit more fun?
What events are there to do which are a bit of fun?
The only dungeons I’ve done are CoF and AC. Are there any others which are fun and you recommend?
Is there a class which is pretty all around good and allows for a good amount of mastering? I liked Thief but then I tried PvE’ing with it and found it so weak.
I then looked around and made a Berserker Warrior which does great damage yeah but my god is he boring…
So what class would you say is fun and good in Zergs, small group fights, and decent at PvE when mastered?
I’ve been looking at the Light classes mainly lately, but also Engineer, Ranger and Guardian… basically every class except Thief/Warrior lol…
So… all opinions are greatly appreciated as honestly I just have no idea what to do.
This really hit me when someone told me a basic combo field (Smoke + heartseeker) to get Stealth on my Thief, and I’ve been playing him for hundreds of hours and I don’t even know much about him, nor the game itself.
The only class in the game that fits small group roaming, fits a zerg and highly desired for dungeoning is the Guardian.
The elementalist is great for roaming and zerging but is more complicated than needed in PVE so not highly sought.
Engineer is the same way as the Elem.
Mesmer kinda its all 3, but in Zergs they are mostly used as walking portals, though they can be built to do fine in them despite the reputation.
Necros are pretty good roamers since their recent updates and amazing in zergs but again are not highly sought for dungeons.
Rangers are great roamers and decent zergs (despite popular opinion) but are highly perceived to be the weakest dungeoning class in the game, so have trouble finding groups.
I can’t make the decision for you, that you must do on your own.
→learn about combofields there is a good gw2wiki article
→ create a guardian and “tank” the remaining duengons there are left for u(at least try cm,coe and fractals maybe if u like it)
for me arah was one of the best dungeons, I tryed path 4 just some days before the nerfpatch the first time and we did after some(like 10^^) trys
Profession: Engineer – versatile, dynamic play style, never boring, quirky gadgets. Can bunker, 1v1, zerg, power build, condition build, support/heal, point control, aoe tag. Every kit and weapon is completely viable. Can fulfill roles in dungeons, WvW, PvP, and open world DEs. Often underestimated, don’t believe the forum hate.
Stuff to do: Obviously, get into dungeon groups and work on completing all paths. Join an active guild that does dungeons or temple DEs or WvW or something that you can get into.
