I’d like to know where and when I can “farm” charged lodestones. The wiki is not really verbose about this.

This is what I know:

• They spawn at random in chests or on champions and legendary mobs in CoE;
• We can get them in FotM;
• On sparks, at a few locations after a specific event occured:
  • East of Karst Plain in Malchor’s Leap;
  • Below the Bitter Mountain POI in Cursed Shores;
  • In the Promenade of the Gods in Cursed Shores.

What I don’t know is:
1. Are there other places where I can drop these?
2. What is the event needed to unlock the spawning of sparks?
3. Where can I find charged cores that I can then turn into lodestones using the Mystic forge?

The sparks spawn while the Cathedral of Zephros (in ML) is uncontested. Fortunately it is not super difficult. I have opened that temple with as few as 4-5 people before. Then you get 2 hours of farm time.

Do you have an answer for Onyx lodestones? Like your own experience of them dropping?

I’ve used what people have suggested on websites with no success. I went to ML and killed countless elementals with nothing.

Did you use mf, if so how much, if not what did you use?

I personally have never gotten an Onyx. But that being said, I have also farmed sparks for multiple hour stretches and got 0 lodestones. I use full MF gear and 30% MF food (Cup of lotus fries) and I still have only ever gotten 5 Charged Lodestones. I have probably farmed for them at least 10-15 hourts total. So yea…these foes definitely don’t squeeze them out easy.

Also my own experience from sparks vs elementals, the earth eles are much more difficult to bring down then the sparks. If you are farming solo I’d bet you can only kill half as many earth eles as sparks, so drop rate over time will be lower. That being said, not much better, but might be easier to farm Charged lodestones, sell and buy Onyx.

You can ‘farm’ charged lodestones off the spawns from the crystals during the Jormag dragon event in Frostgorge Sound.

However, this requires Jormag to be ‘up’ for a considerable length of time. In other words this means everyone ignoring the ice wall and Jormag so the event continues to spawn more crystals…

Those are Corrupted Lodestones.
