I’m at a loss. I’ve been farming mats and trying to sell them. Vendering every bit of armor that doesn’t up to par with my level and I’m still just barely hanging onto 1g and a few silver. And even then I tend to drop so much on armor repair.

I need a new lvl 50 armor set but it’s 20+ silver per piece. Any idea how to get a nice chunk of gold that doesn’t involve farming mobs, for a lvl 50 ele?

Here’s a couple tips:

1) You don’t need to upgrade your armor often while leveling. When you do, just grab some greens from the TP if you haven’t gotten anything better for 10+ levels already. Greens tend to sell for barely above what they vendor for, so gearing up shouldn’t set you back much.

2) Sell unidentified dyes instead of identifying them. If there are colors you want, then buy them off the TP. Most dyes sell for less than a silver and there’s usually not much need to buy the expensive dyes since there are so many similar cheap alternatives. If you need to preview a dye, go to Guildhead.com or gw2db.com and look up the dye, then copy the link and paste it in the chat in game. Then right click the link from in game to preview.

3) If you really need more gold beyond what you gather leveling, do a youtube search for something like “gw2 earn gold”. There are a lot of good tips there.

However, I think your biggest issue is likely from spending rather than from earning. Your only big expense while leveling is buying the trading manuals.

Also, are you completing your daily achievement every day you’re on? It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a few silver each day.

How much are you spending on repairs? I mess around with my Ele from time to time, but I rarely have to repair anything (on the odd occasion I get unlucky on a pull, the armor is replaced before it breaks just from random drops I find) – so I have to ask, are you dying often? If so, why? Eliminating this cost could help you toward financial freedom
