Sssoooooo…
I don’t know if this has ever happened to anyone before. I feel like my case is so much more complicated than starting a guild from scratch. I’ve been part of this guild for a couple of months and it’s been snoresville for a while. Just in the week when I was about to say something to my guild leader about it, he whispers me and asks me to take full-time leadership of the guild. Naturally, I’m like, “heck yes!”. Who doesn’t want to be the leader of a 100+ person guild?

But now, I need to figure out how to get everyone excited about the guild again. I’d call myself a natural leader. I’ve held real life leadership positions in the past and people really looked up to me, but I don’t know how to translate that into a virtual realm. It’s a lot harder to motive people in a video game than in real life. You know? I don’t exactly see them at school everyday. I’m lucky if they are even online at the same time as I am…

So does anyone have any advice? How to I rejuvenate a hibernating guild?

Make sure to organize weekly guild missions, advertise it well to make sure everyone gets to do them.

Having social media for your guild help a lot, Mumble/TS/Forum/Website/Etc. Make sure people join, get them interested by organizing events, guild PvP tournament, Hide and Seek, Guild Icon contest.

Sadly in MMO guild is all about what can you bring to people, that they can’t get elsewhere. Being a good guild leader is a full time job, you are going to need help, find 2-3 people you can trust and make them your co-leader.
