Getting bored of the game -> stuff to do?
Wait until chinese version is out for MAOR LIVING STORY pretty much. And hope they add some new zones I guess.
How about try running some dungeons and fractals ? even if you don’t need the gear some of them are really cool and should be run at least once.
Or go PvP to kick kitten ? or WvW if you want large scale fights
Or you can go try some World Bosses, like Tequati.
Or you can just wait until the new update comes and we have more living story to play
I’ve been seeing a lot of these pop up lately. If you haven’t worked on any ascended gear its a nice not too hard crafting that can increase your over all effectiveness of your character.
Structure PVP has become my new pass time. With the new reward system its a great fun fast pace action of skill and challenge. Trying different builds and thinking outside the “meta” can really be fun. And with the rewards along the way its rather nice.
Sometimes you have to leave the things you love, even for just a little while. A couple of days off doing something completely different is as good as a holiday.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
You sure rolling another character isnt an option? Warrior and guardian are imo two of the most boring and simple classes in the game.
I would highly recommend switching to something like elementalist or engineer. Experiment with builds on these and see how diverse and fun professions in GW2 can be.
You really don’t have to find something to keep you playing. This isn’t a subscription game, mind you. If you want to take a break and go do something else for a few months, then go do it. GW2 will be there, waiting for you.
When the game started I rolled a charr warrior, always wanted to have one. Still main him a lot especially for dungeons and fractals. Then rolled an asura ranger if only for the novelty of the tiny bugger who should be in a lab rolling around in the dirt but using her for a mix of different activities. Then rolled a Norn guard, played him through still need to really get to grips with using him. Then rolled a Sylvari thief, taking to doing another map completion run with her and maybe some wvw roaming. Youngest character is a necro who I use a lot in wvw and also for triple headed wurm runs.
All in all, the game is what you want to make of it. Because the guild I’m in moved servers we’ve had to restart our influence gathering however that means that the small core of solid members are really tight knit and we do all sorts of stuff together. To help with influence building we’ve taken to doing guild bounty training runs (3000 influence for a 300 initial cost, bargain!) and on a recent run we were in Fireheart Rise and completely at random we all transformed into quaggans and made a quaggan train around the map. Anytime we saw a player we ran up to them imploring them to save us and guide us to water. When we reached water we did a guided tour of the waterways, then ran up to CoF and randomly chatted to players. You don’t have to do the content to have a fun time. It’s an MMO and a place where people who could never socialise before due to time and location constraints can just hang out and do random things.

Old, but lots of it is still valid, and can certainly give you ideas from what you can accomplish.

Keep in mind the no subscription fee model lends itself to taking breaks from the game. I’ve taken 2 or 3 breaks of several months and they always help me come back and focus more on specific goals.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
WvW pvp and battlegrounds certainly. Isn’t there a pvp rank rewards system? Joining a guild and pvping, having a group to pvp, or solo pvp is the way to go. I personally play MMO’s strictly for pvp though
Although these are great ideas, the end game is lacking, and I too find it boring. Ive made a full set of ascended armor, working on legendary. Dont much care for pvp and wvw is alright, but its mostly follow the zerg anymore. With the new wardrobe system, that pretty much leaves playing dress up. Some people are into fully customizable looks, thats ok, im not one of them.
OP: I feel you man. I still play, as I said working on legendary, but theres not much else to do in game. Ive recently been looking at the lore and the story though. I skipped a BUNCH of cool stuff on my first and second characters. Didnt really talk to npcs unless I had to and even then I skipped through it. I recently picked up gw1 again to get more of the back story, but am seriously considering rolling a new character just to go theough it again and pay attention to the lore and the story and become more involved with the npcs and their stories. So that might be something to consider.

This.
I’ve taken breaks too. It pays off not to burn yourself out with an MMO. Now it’s a great time to take a break, since there is no temporary content you can miss.
I hear Dark Souls 2 is good
(and it is, playing it myself at the moment).
