I’ve reached level 60 and I still haven’t run a dungeon yet. I’ve seen “reveal” in game messages. I have no idea how get into a dungeon.

Do I wait in major centers, like Lion’s Arch, and watch /map chat spam for groups forming?

Do I head to the area in question and watch chat spam for groups forming?

Is there an automated grouping system?

Don’t feel bad. I am level 80 and haven’t run a dungeon either. I out-leveled my extremely small guild unfortunately. The only way I know of for getting groups is yes, spamming the chat in major cities and also going to those zones that the dungeon is in and lfg there. No dungeon finding tool as of yet.

You can’t out-level content in GW2…

OT: How you get a group for a dungeon (what I think you meant to ask) depends on you. If you have a guild or friends in-game then it would be best to go with them. The dungeons can be tough and teamwork is needed to complete them without a thousand deaths.
If you don’t have a guild or in-game friends then you can do either of what you suggested, ask for or wait for a group at the dungeon or in a major city.
