Getting tired around 30. New class?
With the NPE, and how leveling and stuff is changed. I can see it getting stale around the mid 30s. You get trait points a lot slower, and they’re harder to unlock. What weapons/skills are you using? Those could effect, Engineer is pretty fun kit dancing with grenades/flamethrower/elixir gun. Guardian I don’t have much experience with.
Elementalist is a lot of fun, though if you run stuff it’s rotation isn’t the most exciting, but you can do sooooo much damage
I got rid of the Engineer. It wasn’t as flashy as I thought. As Guardian I am using Sword/Torch.
Classes don’t get better until you’ve hit 80. It used to be different before the NPE. I suggest looking at how classes play at 80 and then sticking it out until you get whichever one sounds like fun to level 80. EotM is probably the quickest way to get there with the exception of consumables and crafting. By the time you get 80, you should have enough karma to buy a full set of exotic armor.
30’s – 40’s was a tough point for me. Became harder to progress. Try mixing it up and playing some of the competitive play options:
World vs. World is a massive battle that will get you experience as you capture forts and keeps.
Structured PvP is a fun way to access all the skills of your profession and get to know your class better. And if you activate a reward track you will gradually get participation awards including some level-up Tomes of Knowledge.
Try em out!
Mid-range levels was a bind for my Warrior.
I solved the boredom a bit by changing the weapons I used from swords to a rifle.
I haven’t leveled a new character successfully since the NPE.
If you find things are getting stale you could change up how you’re playing. Either swap weapons, check out other zones, do some PvP/WvW, or take a trip over to EotM.
Switching up was the best I could manage to work through.
Trying just exploring, leveling via crafting, the personal story or like others have suggested, just roaming in WvW or Edge of the Mists.
With XP, WvWXP and crafting boosters you’ll unlock some higher content for yourself.
All the suggestions are valid (EotM 1-80 in 45 hours play is my record so far), but as a new player knowing the World content and exploring all maps will pay off later. Something to think about.
Also various dungeons are discovered as you level up. Those can be useful and profitable.
You didn’t mention group play. Have you joined a guild? Missions and Events are boredom breakers.
Crafting can be boring, but a good way to mindlessly level through the slow spots. Try it during the Super Bowl (watch the game, drink beer and make swords… heeh).
This game has so many options that it is hard to not find something to do. Mostly, though, it is knowing where to look.
Good luck and enjoy.

Yes indeed. Mixing up your weapon playstyle is a great way to keep it fresh as you level. And in general.
I have tried other weapons now. Still kinda meh to me. The sword/touch combo is what I like best about the class.
I am leveling my warrior atm and I just clear maps to get experience.
