Ok, I just finished getting 100% map completion (finally!) and I get 2 gifts of exploration. Now what the blazes do I do with them? I heard that when one completed 100% map that we got a legendary weapon, so what’s with this?

Never mind, I just found out about it on GW2 wiki. This is a frigging REWARD? It’s a kick in the balls!

Mystic Forge ingredients

1 Bloodstone Shard
250 Obsidian Shard
1 Gift of Exploration
1 Gift of Battle

Some reward for finishing exploring every nook and cranny in every zone, including running the PvP gauntlet in WvW, and you get to do MORE stuff! It’s like one’s boss rewarding you with more work hours and you have to pay him for doing it. The Obsidian shards are only available from the Karma Vendor at Balthazar’s temple, which is endlessly contested so good luck in getting them.

I know that I wont be wasting my time doing 100% exploring on my alts.

You also get a gold star next to your name :P

I knew you wouldn’t. Also know this isn’t aimed at me. Just wanted to know what you did get

If you thought you’d get a legendary….then you only got that info from some morons on here. I have read some…really misleading stuff

Yeah, unfortunately I was mislead. Oh well! One concern that I have is that since this is created in the Mystic Forge it may be a random weap and nothing would tick me off more than collecting all of those ingredients only to have the MF give a weap that none of my chars can use.

no creating a legendary will give you the specific time you want depending on what gifts and precursors you use (gift of exploration being use don all legendaries)… Seriously do ppl not even care to try research about stuff they want in games these day, a simple look on wiki would have told you the reward for map completion as well as what each specific legendary would need to be crafted

No offense, but you were not mislead. The information is readily available for anyone and everyone who does their research. A simple “/wiki legendary” into your chat tab would have told you everything you needed to know.

100% world gives you:
2 gifts of exploration (useless unless working on a legendary)
an achievement
an option for a title (Been there, done that) that places a little gold star beside your character’s name/status bar when other players mouse over you.

Small correction, you don’t need to use the title to get the gold star.

Exploring the map gives you a huge amount of materiales for crafting, armor and/or weapons (that can be rare and exotic in high level areas), experience…

That should be more than enough reward.

The Gift of Exploration is only an optional reward for those looking after a legendary weapon.

I just want to make sure that you know (to avoid further disappointment) that the four ingredients that you listed (Bloodstone shard, 250 Obi shards, gift of exploration & gift of battle) do not make a weapon when combined in the forge. They make the Gift of Mastery – which is just one more small step in the journey to wards getting a legendary weapon.
