I tried to search didn’t find anything clear. I want to buy a friend a char slot; there’s no gift option so there’s no way these type of items can be gifted? I have played GW2 for 6 months I should know these things Likewise gems I guess makes sense u cannot gift those?

As for HoT I can just buy it again and give my friend the code right? Thanks for the n00b answers I just never utilized the gemstore much all this time or for selfish reasons when I did

Account upgrades cannot be gifted, unfortunately. This includes character slots and the HoT upgrade. And no, you cannot gift gems in-game. You CAN send them the amount of gold it’d cost to buy that many gems, or you could buy a gem card (online or in-store) and give them the code on the back.

If you want to buy HoT for your friend, you’ll have to buy it on the website. You can then just send them the confirmation email with the serial code.
