I do not have HoT (not because I’m poor but because I don’t use credit cards or credit card substitutes).

The bat wings in cash shop say they are glider. What does that mean? Can you glide outside of HoT areas? If you can glide anywhere in the world, do you still have to have the expansion to activate? If no gliding without expansion, will the bat wings still appear on my character if I don’t have HoT?

They can be chosen as a glider skin if you buy them. However, you can only use a glider in HoT areas; they are expansion only

The bat wings, as well as the previous white and black wings, are also selectable glider wings in HoT. Gliding is a mastery you need to learn to glide and masteries are only available with HoT.
