It’ll just be £20 at first. So was wondering with (I think 4k gems) what would you recommend from cash shop? Only permanent things please.

Pets? Permanent pick axe? Mount? Cosmetics? Inventory space?

Or can you get weapons skins that have a flame etc on? That would be cool.

(I’m at work so I can’t look)

Thanks in advance guys.

Bank slots hands down, get about 2-3 more and thats a good size bank for everything you may need and is also account wide.

Wait for a while and see what tomorrows patch brings. I tend to buy stuff that is there only for a limited time so I won’t regret not getting it later.

Are pets permanent? I’m guessing this is a stupid question.. But just to be sure.

The mounts are only cosmetics, same with the pets. And yes they’re permanent. You do need to buy and put them in an invisible bag though, otherwise they go to your bank when you deposit collectibles because they are considered collectibles themselves.

The pick-axe is a permanent upgrade to a single character, at it’s price though it really isn’t cost effective, so it’s more of a convenience item. Is that amount of real money worth never having to run to town for picks again? Then that’s for you. Other convenience items include bank slots, bag slots, and character slots if you’re much of an altoholic.

There are also three real armor sets that are somewhat inspired by GW1 sets, you may want to have a look at those, and there are a bunch of town clothes if you’re into RPing or fleshing out your character to that degree.

Finally we have boosts and BL keys/chests, which are currently on sale. Don’t ever buy those, ever, not matter what they’re put on sale for. The boosts are miniscule and the BL chests (and every other RNG chest) will most likely require buying hundreds of dollars worth before anything of value drops because of the horrible drop rates.

Pets are account bound and permanent. However, you must have them in your bag to use them, and they count as collectibles. Thus unless you have them in an invisible bag they will go into your bank every time you deposit all collectibles. Also I think they despawn on any zoning or relog. I don’t use them enough to be sure on that.

They are in the collections tab of the bank, at the bottom. Any of your alts can take one out and use it while it is in that alt’s inventory. They are also tradeable, so you can sell them on the TP if you want (make sure to deposit them once in the bank so you get them ticked off on the pet collection achieve).

If you don’t have the collector’s edition, you could buy the upgrade. IIRC it’s about 2000 gems.

Otherwise, bags and bank space.

Bank slots, character slots .. and the pick axe if you like the look. You will maybe never get the value back, but if you like the look its more like a skin .. and of course you never need to carry spare picks again

Do I get enough in the collectors to warrant 2000 gems? In your opinion?

Digital deluxe upgrades really aren’t worth the trouble. I’d advise one or two bank slots, maybe a bag slot or two for your main if you don’t have or plan to have a lot of alts, and save the rest for tomorrow’s update as others have said. There will probably be a bunch of new additions which you may or may not see as being worthwhile.

I dunno, check out the difference

Yeah, like several people here have said, buy Bank Slots first, Character Inventory Slots next, and after that if Black Lion Chest Keys are still on sale, you could stock up on those and try to save them for the next time some kind of rare, limited time only thing (like the Fused Skins) is dropped in the chests again. They put stuff in those chests for lots of different events, and the price of gold-to-gems always skyrockets, so if you get keys through leveling or the store sale it’s a good idea to save them. The Eternal Picks and Limited Time skins are kinda nice too. Almost everyone will suggest staying away from the Southsun Supply Crates, btw, since the drop rates on the weapon skins are insane, and the non-skin items from the Black Lion Chests are often better.

I have to disagree, I have got the value back many times on my pick, the simple fact of not having to use extra slots to carry more or having to equip a new one every time one breaks is nice and that alone makes it worth it to me. I just can’t wait for perm axe and sickle. Truth be told, they need more things like this in the store and less town clothing.

Don’t.
It’ll just go to NCsoft to pad their pockets or use it for other games.

Instead send the money by direct deposit to ArenaNet ^^

But if you must:
- Bank and bag slots: good investment if you plan to play the game for years and years to come.
- Permanent gathering tools, because it’s annoying going to buy more when you run out.

Hi,

The best would be to get more bag and bank slots, that extra space is actually really useful (but in my case, it’s more space to throw more garbage)

Right now there are some limited time miniatures for 400 gems each, just in case you would like to take advantage of this (possible?) one time sale.

And well, permanent gathering tools are very convenient, but get them as the last option since more slots = win!

Oh yeah .. i really also wait for an axe and sickle .. especially since at the moment i am harvesting a lot since the prices for wood and also everything you can find in Dredgehaunt Cliffs are so nice at the moment.

Is the molten pick still available? I thought it was gone for now. I want to buy more for my alts.

I’d buy a whole harvesting tool set if they had them.

You can trade those gems for ingame gold aswell. Then you can just buy items on the trading post, if you want cool weapons and such. The more gems you exchange the better you make the rates for everyone else

If you spend money on GW2 or the GW2 shop, it won’t be directly “supporting GW2”. It could actually be supporting another game.

It would be of my opinion that you should learn more about the game/cash shop before supporting it. From you OP it would seem you might be a bit naive to it all, thus supporting something you don’t know much about…….which is never a good move.

I agree with Essence.

The molten pick is out of the shop afaik but is replaced by the consortium sickle. Those things are a very good pick for farming. But are also soulbound, and you might want to change later. Same goes for many of the skins. So besides an extra banktab or an upgrade to digital deluxe I dont see a lot of things you can do right now. Off course you could always support now and stack the gems up till later.

Yep no more picks now, but there is a sickle (as already mentioned). And I agree—more backpack and bank slots are the way to go first. Taking them to the max will drain that 20 pretty fast.
