I had stopped playing gw2 for a while, and i’ve decided to come back and play, as I currently have a lvl 55 elementalist, I feel as though she won’t be too crash hot for end game.

What are your recommendations for good solo PvE classes to play?

I’m looking at something with Good DPS/Self Healing combos…

Seriously they can be amazing solo when you get the attunements working right.

Other than that the default hit things till they fall down and move on to next is the warrior. Not what I call fun but less worries about playing it without mistakes.

Honestly, despite all the ranger hate, they are a pretty good at solo PvE. Warriors are OP everywhere so that’s always a safe bet too.

But really, most PvE is very easy to do with any profession. So roll whatever you enjoy playing and have a good time.

Among all the classes, I think Guardian is pretty good at PvE. He can solo champ as well with his amazing abilities to block and blind. Guardian is known to have decent dps and healing power. The only down side is that he runs slow and no effective perma speed boon (unless you invest S. rune of traveler or speed).

The easiest classes to level solo, based on my experience, are in this order:

1. Guardian
2. Elementalist
3. Warrior
4. Ranger
5. Necromancer
6. Engineer
7. Mesmer
8. Thief

Once you’ve reached top level and are fully geared, there isn’t much difference between them for solo PvE play. The pet classes (Ranger and Necro) are pretty easy since you have agro dumps. The Guardian and Warrior have heavy armor which makes living longer a bit easier. The Guardian can also be pretty much indestructible, though it may take a while to kill anything.

I would say

1. Warrior
2. Guardian
3. Ranger
4. Necro

Yes ele is kinda good at solo PvE, but it isn’t easy at all to play and isn’t good at early levels, I don’t recommend as first class

Warrior and Ranger are great at solo PvE from beginning to end and are easy to play, those are my suggestions for a easy mode solo PvE.

Guardian is easy to solo because they have many self survivability skills, but is kinda weak imo, and if you build for damage the survivability changes a lot, the great thing about guardians is the support.

Necro is a medium one imo, minion master and power/well builds are really good solo in PvE, but still not as good as the previous ones I mentioned.

Eng and Mesmer only get good at higher levels, so I don’t really recommend them, mesmer in special I had a bit of trouble to reach lvl 60.

Thief I can’t say much since mine is only lvl 30, the other classes I mentioned are all lvl 80.

For PvE…I’ll take a Ranger for soloing overland. Fast with good ranged / melee options. Maybe not for dungeons, but exploring yeah.

For leveling I always go with Power regardless of class.
After that Precision.
After that … it depends but by that time you should have a pretty good idea of how you want to play.

Yes that is pretty much going for a glass canon but you can adjust for how glassy through your traits. You could have your traits balance out the stats or have it stacked even further towards the glassy direction. I would recommend adjusting based on experience.

While leveling, your stats really don’t matter.

Just use your Karma to buy the best gear you can from any Gold Heart vendors you encounter and that should be good enough to get you to 80.
