Hey all,

I wanted to remove the background from my character, but am not able to find a good spot. Anyone got idea’s where the background is almost one color?

Or are there any other ways to achieve this?

Anywhere covered in snow, perhaps? Keep in mind that different areas will have different lighting that may vastly affect your character’s look.

I was able to do so in Dry Tops, during a Sand Storm.
Though as you’ve described above, the lighting made my character very dark

Can’t GW2 just add in a “Green Screen” area?
Easy capture → easier video’s with your own characters → more publicity

In the DR crafting area near the armorsnithing station there is a relatively monochrome grey-beige wall (it does have some mottling and texture). The floor is lighter, so you might have two areas of color to filter out. There is also the marble statue between the bank and TP in DR to get a better lit area — again there’s some mottling, and a different tone by the feet. Just south of the Rurikton WP there is a white brick wall.

I don’t think ANet left a lot of untextured blank areas in the game. There’s a lot of detail everywhere you look.

Find some of the ‘out of world’ areas where you only have sky behind you. The Ulgoth area – Harathi Hinterlands is decent for this as well as a few areas in Mt.Maelstrom. Both of those areas will give great lighting and minimal background noise. Another options is a directX injection program (“Texmod”) where you can replace textures with your own ‘green screen’ textures of one color.

Texmod seems like it would work or shoop your character out manually.

lol I wish ANet would add a green screen for us to do photo shoots on, the problem is, it would be the new “afk spot”….

Personal Instanced in your “Home Instance”!
Maybe something like SAB to enter?

OMG… Super Adventure Box, ofcourse! xD What a better way to get a “Green Screen”!
Now all they’ve got to do is add it again

I’d like to see ArenaNet add a green screen to the character selection screen. This would allow all members of a guild to snap their own screenshots, send them to one person, and have them combined into a group portrait with some level of uniformity. Snapping the pictures in-world, as others have stated, means dealing with the lighting of the area they’re in, which is different in each zone throughout the day.
