Guild Wars 2

The new daily listing group events, is slightly confusing, i’m slightly Autistic and i’m having a fair bit of difficulty in working my head around this one.

I assumed the events were just the normal events i had been casually doing for previous dailies, but the number was lowered, but this seems to not be the case.

Am i to assume now that “Group” events, are infact things like the dragon events, etc?

Separate from event scaling, Group Events are different in complexity and/or difficulty from other events of the surrounding area. Group Events are listed in the event assistant with “[Group Event]”, and like other events are marked on the map and compass. As their name implies, they are designed to be done with groups rather than individuals as they are unlikely to be solo-able (though some can be with patience and tactics).

I assume that as well, but don’t know for sure. Someone else told me not all area events are considered group events, so…

the darker orange color notification that appears:

so and so faction is doing this against so and so place
this area is quiet
this thing has been sighted recently

those are group events.

You may be confusing those with Meta Events…

Meta events are a series of dynamic events that tells the story of an explorable zone. Meta events are displayed in the event assistant stating if the meta event is inactive or the actual dynamic event that marks the state of the meta event.

Note that not all stages of a Meta Event are considered Group Events.

ah, my mistake! Ignore my post please!

The “group” events are usually the last link in a chain of Meta Events, and have a prefix [Group] (or something similar) in their titles. Those counts. I got my daily done with one character doing Maw twice. Draw back was I only got one chest from it.

Yeah, a group event will always have a [Group Event] in the notification describing it. Often they involve Champions that a player would have no hope of defeating on their own.

In fact that’s one I did yesterday to get my Daily!

Claw of Jormag is good for this. The last crystal for the pre-event is one and the Claw of Jormag itself is another. You are pretty much guaranteed to finish healer as well if that happens to be one of the dailies.
