Guild Wars 2

Hello guys,

I just came back to the game after a long break and wanna start preparing for the expansion but can’t decide on which class I should choose to main, I narrowed it down to Guardian, Warrior and Ranger. My focus is mostly PVE and Dungeons, Raid.

Please help me out figure out which path I should take.

Since you’re coming back in time for HoT, what specialization/elite works better for you?
Do you like the LB, torch, or staff better?
What type of skins/legendary do you have with these weapon types? What’s your favorite?
Next, I suggest you take a look at the elite specializations of each class in their respective forums/their feedback thread. Some of them have reviews you may find intolerable and not what you thought the elite would do. For instance, a guardians traps may not be what you want in a dungeon, but prefer the zerker power of the warrior.

Warrior is still going to be valuable asset to any dungeon and since condi is important with HoT, the berserker could play well.
Ranger still needs a lot of work, so you may want to wait.

look at it this way.

guard is support/semi tank (depends on build)
warrior is upfront dps aka melee
ranger is pet control and dps/ support (spirits healing spring pet condi clean etc)

guard is good at taking hits cc’ing bosses and generally keeping their team alive in dungeons and basic pve content. you have access (till hot) scepter staff hammer shield 1 handed sword mace greatsword focus and torch.

warriors like i mentioned are kinda frontline dps but can also do a good job at support if you run phalanx/strength. they have access to greatsword axe 1 handed sword longbow rifle shield warhorn and hammer(i know nothing of warrior since i hardly play the class so feel free to add anything)

rangers are well ok currently i guess..(ranger main) they are a dps but can also give good support abilities in the terms of their spirits, pets, traits and healing spring. they have access to longbow shortbow dagger axe 1 handed sword torch warhorn and greatsword.

i didnt want to go into much detail but if you want me to i can and im sure everyone else can give you a basic guide on what each class is like.

Like many others I have a character in every class. My guardian is my least favourite and has this bad habit of dying. Yes, she is probably not tuned correctly since she was an early character, but others rolled at the same time are doing great.

For me ranger but followed very closely by warrior. It all comes down to your playstyle. I guess it is because both I have a GS/LB combination with.
