Guild Recruitment help
From what I see, the part that makes it the hardest (and seemingly impossible) is the fact that it’s centered around another game, that maybe not as many people play/ed, through lore. People come to GW2 to play in GW2 lore, etc.
This thread here has some great tips and ideas on starting up a guild and what to do as certain situations come up:

I guess that solves that problem. I went in thinking that a lot of people have heard and played Dark Souls. There was one player who wanted to join, but that didn’t turn out well. I’m just hoping that I would be able to find other people who know Dark Souls and travel through an expansive MMO while playing our characters based on popular DS characters. I went ahead of myself, so now I got to expand the criteria further.
Gywn – I have in fact heard and briefly played dark souls. And yes the first one was a niche game on the PS3. And the fact that it is has a rep for being a difficult game. It doesn’t surprises me that most have not played it. Rather than basing your guild off of another game. Build your guild loosely off of it. Retain the name and ranks, but have a clear idea in mind as to what you want your guild to do. As Aria said, people play GW2 for GW2 lore etc.
Personally, I wouldn’t want to join a guild in GW2 to pretend to be folks from another game. I’d want to focus on Tyria.
Similarly I wouldn’t want to die to all of the various bosses and tough fights in Dark Souls pretending to be one of my Tyrian heroes.
I think the above players are right to advise you to consider the guild within the context of GW2’s lore and world.
edit: That said, I for one hope you’re helping praise the sun throughout Tyria!
This is helpful, though I do want to keep a Dark Souls theme to the guild. Like Calamity said, I think I’ll keep the ranks and recruitment to where they are, but I’ll leave the DS lore to “word of mouth” and not make it a requirement. This could help make it more open to fans new and old of both games. Guess this means that I’ll have to make a ver. 3 of my page.
@synk, Keep on praisin’! \[T]/
edit: sorry for the long bump, keep forgetting to check my replies.
