Guild Server location
Guilds are server and region wide.
RIP City of Heroes
Guilds are no longer tied to servers. The only thing that is server-specific is WvW.
If members of a Guild happen to be from the same server, they can play in WvW together. If not, they will not be able to play together in WvW, unless their servers are matched up.
Good luck.
Guys, I got all that info from the wiki but it doesn’t answer my question.
“Is there any way to tell what server a guild is on from within the game?”

…..
That’s an oxymoron.
They are tied for WvW ;-)
No, there isn’t. Nor is there any reason to be able to.
As stated above, guilds are not tied to servers. Only individual guild members are. If you’re looking for a wvw guild, you’ll have to ask which is their primary server (or many will advertise that fact)
…
As stated above, guilds are not tied to servers……
Then why are these guilds divided into server locations?
And why do guilds specify which server they are on so you can participate in WvW.
One even told me I had to be on the same server to interact with individual members otherwise I’d never see them while wandering around a location!

In the beginning of the game, guilds were tied to a specific server for both PvE and WvW. Due to mega server for PvE, now it doesn’t matter where the guild is, all members can interact. Guilds are still server specific for WvW and while you might be in the guild, unless you are either on that specific server or are linked, you will not be able to interact with the members of that guild in WvW (unless you are on an opposing server). This is why you will see guilds advertise what server they are on for WvW purposes.
As far as that website, I can only assume you have to register your guild on it or it hasn’t been updated in Lord knows when. [METL] has been on Anvil Rock since beta and has never moved but yet it isn’t listed. Crystal Desert has [VII] and that isn’t listed either.

Whoever told you that is wrong… the only restriction for playing/seeing a guildie in open world PvE is being in the same region. (i.e. being in a server located in the NA region vs EU region). That region is fully up to you… (if you can tolerate the ping) you can live in USA but have your account located in a EU server if you so desired.
What you say used to be the case 3-4 years ago before the mega-server was implemented.
You can tell from inside the game.
- Press [F12] to enter the character selection screen
- Choose “World Selection”
- In the upper right, it will show your region: America or Europe.
As other people have said guilds are region wide. Members can be on any server and they’ll be able to meet up in PvE (and PvP) and access the guild hall, guild bank and all other features. The only reason you’d need to be on the same server is to do WvW together.
Also that doesn’t actually stop anyone playing WvW, it just means you can’t play together because you’ll be on different teams. For example I’m on Desolation and most members of one of my guilds are on Whiteside Ridge. If those servers are fighting each other we’ll be enemies. If they’re not we won’t even be in the same campaign.
What you might be running into is guild-specific rules. And in that case the best way to find out is to ask the members, ideally the leader or officers. Or if you’ve not joined yet a recruiter should know. All guilds are free to make their own rules and some do still insist on members being on the same server. WvW guilds are the obvious ones but I know of some PvX guilds who are just uncomfortable with the idea of members fighting against each other and some who are just die-hard server loyalists who insist on sticking to just one server even though they know it doesn’t matter.

That website is older than the game. I used it in the week or so before release to choose a guild so I could join on day 1. (Worked out well, 4 years on I’m still friends with many of the other members.)
As other people have said in the early days guilds were server-specific and I suppose they just haven’t updated the website to remove that category or all them to pick all servers.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
A long time ago a guild could have a chapter on each server and players on that server would only have access to that server’s bank and bonuses. With megaservers they eventually “merged” all the server chapters where all members could access a unified bank and bonuses.
