Guild Wars 2

I’ll begin by saying I never played GW1 or any of its expansions.

I’ve recently started playing GW1 (Nightfall) I’m running a Dervish/Warrior, I’ve gotten to level 20 using various methods, I manage to do regular quests with relative ease, but when I get to missions, I just seem to get flattened. Even the normal stuff I can’t seem to do without the help of 7 Heroes/Minions.

All around, even with guides and online resources, I feel like I’m doing something wrong. The reason I’m posting here is to find any active Guild Wars 1 veterans who would be willing to add me and help me get sorted.

The Guild Wars (2) community has been the most helpful and polite I’ve come across in all my online gaming, and I sincerely thank everyone who replies.

GW1 is very much build around having the max number of people/npcs available for that mission. No matter how good you get you will be defeated most of the time seeing as the game is not supposed to be done on your own.

I was in a similar situation as you (started GW1 after playing GW2, had no friend there or guild) and it’s definitely tough at first. If you don’t know about it yet, I’d recommend looking at this setup for your hero team, it’ll take some effort to setup but it now lets me get through 90% of things with minimal trouble.
