I was hoping someone could clarify what needs to be done to get influence for logging in. I have all my alts in a guild but I don’t always get influence for cycling through them.

Do I need to switch zones with each one? Kill a mob? Does anyone know what constitutes “logging in?”

Thanks, that’s really helpful. The last edit on that page regarding attendance was in Dec 2013 – nearly a year ago. I’m wondering if in that time people have learned more and simply haven’t updated the wiki.

I don’t really think anything has changed since then.

The problem is probably that you can only get influence from logging in once per day, per character and here ‘day’ means exactly 24 hours since the last time it happened. Which is unlike most things in-game, which define a day as the 24 hour period between daily resets.

For example if you’re in a timezone where the daily reset happens at 10pm you can use the time-gated crafting recipes once at 9:50pm and then wait 10 minutes and use them again. But if you log into a character and give influence to your guild at 9:50pm you have to wait until at least 9:51pm the next day before you can generate influence that way again.

Other than that all you have to do is make sure they’re representing the right guild when you log out, because the influence is granted instantly when you log in so changing after that is too late.

Yeah, I can see the timing being an issue.

What I’ve tried for the past couple of days is as soon as I get to work (before anyone else shows up), I log in and cycle through all of my alts. They’re all representing my guild. This is done at pretty much the same time each day.

For each day I’ve tried this, I’ve gotten influence from logging in my alts, but the most I’ve gotten is 30, even though I’m going through 7 characters. I’d like to try to understand why I don’t get the 50 the wiki says I should.

We have this issue with our guild some days will get credit for 6 logging on and some days 12. It is never the same. We have put a ticket in but got not real result. No matter what timing we do it varies.
And we always wait a bit more than the 24 hour time frame. So that is not the issue there are 3 of us in the guild we all live in the same house.

Ive seen where I’ve gotten influence over a few days time for doing events but no influence during that time spanning 3 days or so for logging in, so obviously it’s bugged. I reported it in game with a screenshot and later got influence, either from the game or from support.

Okay I had not logged on for well over 24 hours. I got 40 influence for 5 of my players logging in. Also no one logged in on the 27th at all. But shows 70 influence for the 27th. So there is something really messed up here.

The picture you have there doesn’t show the 27th. It ends on the 22nd. Maybe you got the 21st and 27th confused? The 21st has 70 influence for logins and shows guildies doing activities and working on guild queues.

Looks like the previous time people logged in was the 26th. Maybe the logins from the 26th didn’t post until the 27th?

Either way, it’s messed up and not very accurate as I’ve had up to 3 days go by without showing logins, even though I’ve gotten influence from activities on those days.

Yes that is the whole point. It is random as to what influence you get. For a large guild it may not matter a lot. For small guilds it get frustrating.
But thanks for your input. It in a small way is nice that I know we are not crazy. LoL
