For the life of me I cannot figure out how the personal guild daily log in influence is calculated.

If you’re in a guild larger than just the four friends we have, you won’t see the discrepancy. With four accounts, five characters per account, logging in each character every day should yield 10 influence per, or 200 for each 24 hour period.

The Guild Wars 2 official Wiki states;

“Attendance

Awarded to the guild being represented by a character when that character logs in. Each character can only give influence in this way once per 24 hours (on a per-character reset timer), and each account can only do so for up to five characters per day.

10 per member for the first 20 members.
5 per member from 20 to 50 members.
1 per each additional member.

The influence is awarded immediately upon login. A summary is added to the History tab once per day."

As a test, this past week these 20 characters have been logged in at roughly 12 hour intervals to insure we weren’t missing the “per character reset timer” by a few minutes.

When we look at the history log for these past 7 days, the attendance is very sporadic. Some days show various numbers of characters logged in, 8, 9, 14, and some days show that no one logged in at all.

It would be very beneficial if the summary would update immediately instead of once per day. I know this is trivial and a moot point to 90% of the people out there but I just don’t think it is calculating correctly.

I’ve noticed this too. I have a personal guild just for the bank space. Every morning, I will cycle through all my alts to get this influence. I have rarely seen it register each toon’s log in. Most of the time, I will only get 20/30/40 influence for logging in 6 characters.

The wiki says something about not getting influence for things done in overflow. The enforcement of this, however, seems irregular, at best. Sometimes I will get influence for logging into an overflow zone and sometimes I won’t get influence for logging into an non-overflow zone.

I think overflow is the main issue here, it does all kinds of strange things. If it’s an issue for you, ensure you always log off/in at a zone that never has overflows.

There are times when at 10:00am the history will show 21 members logged in — when I know I had 45 members logged in the night before and can count 23 logged in right that exact minute. So, it makes no sense.

I’ve made a storage guild. I don’t rep into it every day but even when I do it doesn’t seem to count. However I admit I had forgotten about the overflow thing and that’s probably part of it. Maybe if I rep briefly while actually out in the game world rather than just in LA, maybe that would make a difference.
