Guild question
Hey Bubba. As with any game I’m sure you’ll know that starting a guild is a lot of work.
Personally I give freedom to my members. Many folks have different guilds for a multitude of reasons. Can I ask, did you come in the mindset of members must madatory represent? If so that can also turn away a lot of folks and limit your pool of players.
Also it’s easier if you have any RL friends with you to increase the appeal as they see more folks repping . In general getting your first 50 members is difficult, however those that stick by you are great allies. Talking and communicating with any and all members when they first join is vital otherwise they feel neglected and leave or not rep.
Don’t give up! If it’s something you want to do, do it! Try again but you have to form a pretty tight knit and with your first ‘set’ of members.
As for being guild leader in another guild it is possible you just won’t have the same title but can be given access to the same things as the leader.

You can in fact join another guild without losing your current one. My own guild leader has done so, and our allied guild’s leader has a character in our guild. It’s a simple toggle button to pick which you are representing.
Yes, you can join another guild without disbanding your current guild or relinquishing your leader rank in it.
Simply stop representing your guild (click ‘Stand Down’) then accept the invitation from the new guild you want to join.
Actually you can join more than that, they raised the cap! Or else it was a glitch that let me join a 5th for a march through Tyria.
You have always been able to join 5 guilds.
Thank you, all!
Glitch, it was very hard getting my first 10 peeps. I did not put requirements to represent the guild because at first i didn’t know people could multi-guild.
I tried everything from runnign with people, helping them do what ever they needed to do, helping them do their story quests, level up, or purchase gear for them. (money’s no real issue for me in GW2. I don’t really use it except to buy blueprints for WvW so I have more to spare).
But people don’t respond the same way as in DDO. I won’t make this a thread like others that exist, but I do find the social aspects to be challenging with multi-guilds, no LFG tool, etc. BUt i’m not givign up on continuing to find ways to enjoy the game.
I solo’d a lot, but really prefer to run and share the experience with others. That’s why I do WvW so much because I just hook up with the zerg and share the experience. The problem there is that yoru groups and team mates are always different and there’s no real development of relationships yet for me.
So i thought I’d try to find a guild that is very social. I just want to run with others. There’s something wrong FOR ME in soloing in an MMO. I mean…what’s the point? it’s an MMO! if I wanted a solo experience, I’d play Skyrim or something else.
So this is just my way of rolling with the newness of GW2 and hoping I find a guild to run with for a while, while I continue to see if it’s worth continuing to build my own guild (probably not).
Thakns for the responses.
Hahah I was like you. Even though I had at least 2 folks to game with, I also kinda got bored and thought that I’d expand my social interaction.
It took me quite a long time to set up Operation: Union but I’m glad I did.
I don’t know I was like that, I tried to help the first folks that came but it didn’t really work out. It took me 2 tries before I got anywhere.
Maybe your just getting unlucky, don’t give up as there ARE folks that appreciate your efforts how taking your time out helping them.
It takes time, the pve content can be completely soloable so folks don’t see the need to form groups or whatever excluding dungeons.
This community I have to admit is different compared to the old GW1. You just gotta keep at it. There are people with like minds, they’re just taking a while to get there. You just have to keep going.
