Hello,

Anybody knows what it means when a character shows up as “Unknown” in the guildroster? If it means that they have gone inactive. If so, how long does it take for the inactivity “Unknown” thingy to kick in?

If you mean next to the name then it’s location: unknown, which is pretty much anytime someone goes offline.

Well, I have people in the guild offline right now. Some do show their latest location while others have the “Unknown” where their location should be. I have offline people that I know have played today, which all show their latest location, and offline people who haven’t played in weeks which all show up as “Unknown”.

It could be my UI being bugged ofcourse, but could it also be so that the “Unknown” pops up when a player is actually inactive long enough for it to switch to an unknown status? If so, it could be used to check if members have gone inactive without telling so, for guilds who are interested in a clean roster.

It shows as unknown when someone has not logged in since a patch, reset, or new build.

Pochibella is right. I noticed recently that even people who logged in during the same day as a server reset would show up as “unknown” in our guild. I think the server just loses track of where you last were when there was a reset.

I have someone who is not-representing and logged online and yet who still shows as ‘unknown.’ No character name, level, no location, no level/professions. I wonder if a person has to represent to have their info updated within the Guild/Ui roster?

I can second this, there’s a player in my guild which I’ve never seen represent and whose server choice and/or last login location never shows up.

Doesn’t bother me or anything, just wanted to help people figure out what’s going on if I can.

In Paradise [Para], we have an activity roster based on achievement points, if you even get 1 achievement point a week our roster shows you as active. This is a very obtainable goal as you can get achievement points from doing your daily or even part of your daily. Anyway I have noticed a pattern in our system with those members that go to “Unknown” status. We give our members 4 weeks of inactivity on our roster before they get kicked. Every person I have kicked for the 4 week duration has been in ‘Unknown’ status.
We are actually thinking of just using the Unknown status as a precursor to kicking inactive members but we want to find out more information beforehand.
