Guild weapons
If you go to the guild person that lets you design the logo, there’s an option to preview it on weapons. clothing, and banners.
It replaces the enitre skin. The skin itself is a preset skin (so the same for all guild weapons and it has the guild logo on it: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Weaponsmith
The same goes for guild armor:

(the armor pieces are applying these skins on your chest-armor, the rest stays unchancged. The backpacks go into the back slot and come with their own stats, so it’s not a skin, but a back-armor piece).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I’ve used the armour once, and in that case it seemed to place the cloth overlay with my guild logo over the top of my existing armour.
However, it could have just been luck that my armour happened to match the model in the guild armour.
in the list of developers I have the least faith & trust in.
Congratulations ArenaNet!
@ Mercury – thanks for those links, knowing what they look like helps make sure I don’t spend money on those skins, even if they only show when I’m representing (which is all the time) they’re a bit ugly.
The armor’s not as bad (nor the shield I suppose) but just won’t really match my preferences so guess I’ll just stick to the backpack.
