Guild Wars 2

Hi there. So I had Gw1 for several years but could never really get into the PvE side of Gw1 due to playing another large MMO for so long. I had a level 20 Dervish, Ritualist and an Assassin, but can’t say I knew much about the game. I spent most of my time at Jade Quarry as I absolutely adored PvP. Anyways, I left it a little late to begin working on my HoM and went into Gw2 with very little points. I think I currently have around 8 points.

I’ve tried opening the Hom Reward Calculator to see what I have (or what I don’t have rather) but it’s going all buggy and the web page is all distorted. I’ve searched for fixes and tried each of them with no luck whatsoever.

My question to you is;

*Is it allowed for me to share my old Gw1 username for someone to look me up?
*If so, can anyone with some spare time point me to the easier HoM achievements as I’m really struggling to get many with very little knowledge of the game.

I dont know of any way someone could scam you just by seeing your character name. they can see it if you are playing so its not a secret.

It’s working at the moment on my iPad, which used Safari. You can try that. If it doesn’t work I can try to post it off my iPad. No guarantees though on prettiness. ^^

The HoM calculated has been messed up on and off for ages now. Last time I looked it was working for me, but sometimes it’s unreadable. Now appears to be one of those times. You could try using a different browser, I’ve heard that works for some people, but it’s never helped me.

And yes it’s ok to share your username. Considering it’s one of your characters in the game it’s hardly a secret, anyone who sees you in-game will know it.

Without seeing what you’ve already got however I can tell you that it’s probably a good idea to start things off by finishing the 3 campaigns and Eye of the North if you haven’t already. If you have then play through some missions to get used to the game again.

If you like JQ then I recommend going after the Luxon, Kurzick and Zaishen titles, if you haven’t got them already (incidentally there’s a week long double points bonus just starting for both JQ and FA). You could also trade some points for amber and/or jade and get the elite armor set(s).

Minis and (if you’ve finished EotN) destroyer weapons are also pretty easy to get because you can just farm the gold doing whatever you find easiest/most fun and then buy them. (For the weapons you need to buy the materials then run down to the dungeon to make them, but it’s still easy.)

Same with adding heroes – you can just buy the armor upgrades from other players and fill that monument relatively quickly. If you’ve got a ranger then getting the pets helps too. (And if you don’t have a ranger make one in PvP, take the wolf to the Menagerie, delete them, make a PvE ranger, take the wolf out and take them to the Hall and you’ve got yourself another point.)

Well, the name of my Assassin was “R A C K Z”. I’m pretty sure I have all of the Campaigns but honestly couldn’t tell you whether i’ve completed them or not.

I remember playing EoTN on my Ritualist alot, Nightfall on my Dervish alot, and I believe Factions on my Assassin.

From what I can remember I’m pretty sure I was on the last boss on my Dervish if not finished, I vaguely remember a large boss that had 3 paths facing out of it, and it spawned tentacles or something and you attacked it’s head (yes very vague I know)

EDIT: Finally got the Calculator to work. Only have 17/50 mini pets.

I’m currently on 8 points, I’d like 11. 13 Would be nice aswell but I’m not sure I could get that.

All of these are 1 point each, except the last two which are 3 and 2 points, respectively. You have 8 points total.

I managed to get a sunspear armour drop on my Dervish and I upgraded Koss’ gear to elite. I relogged to my Assassin (he is at HoM) but I couldn’t do anything. Do I need to go there with my Dervish?

Attached a picture of an axe I have, would I be able to sell it for any decent amount of cash to buy stuff with? :o

Not certain if anyone perhaps replied to you in-game already, but each of your toon’s heroes are unique. Your Dervish’s Koss is not the same as your Assassin’s Koss. Think of them as identical twins, seperated at birth and forever doomed to never meet… :P

If your Dervish’s Koss is the one wearing the upgraded armor, the Dervish will need to visit their HoM with Koss in the party (wearing his spiffy new clothes).

If your goal is between 11-13 HoM points, adding a ranger pet such as the Black Moa and 3 more common (white) minis will get you to 12 I believe.

I would suggest, while in the HoM on your Dervish, check which minipets you already have dedicated to your account’s “Devotion” monument. If you can list them here, do so and that will give people who may have some spare minipets an idea of which ones you may still need.

Also, if any of your toons have access to the Kurzick-side Aspenwood Gate outpost, if you are in the party of someone who has completed the Beak of Darkness quest chain, there will be a charmable level 20 Black Moa pet you can grab. That will count for both an “Any Pet Statue” and “Any Rare Pet Statue” in your HoM. I can give you a run for that if you’d like.
