The easiest way of making gold is to buy gems and use the in game currency exchange to convert it to gold. Not only do you get more gold, but you will also support the makers of this great game.

Further there are no easy ways of making money. There are however some good ways to do so.

a: don’t use waypoints unless you are defeated. Always walk to the nearest town and use an asuragate.

b: Set goals and keep to it. I mean look at what you want to buy and don’t spent money on anything else till you have it.

c: sell on the TP instead to the merchant, many times you can get a better price on the tradepost.

d: don’t be greedy nor jealous on what someone else has but be happy with what you have yourself.

Adding to what mercury said, remember this:

Frequently use the Deposit Collectibles feature of the Inventory window. This will move any collectible items directly out of your bags and into your bank account. Later, when you have time, go to the bank and review what you have stashed in your bank, and pull out large stacks (multiples of 10) and sell them in the trading house.

My best advice is to match the lowest price on the market. This will sell them fastest. But if you want more money, strike a price somewhere between the lowest and highest prices. It will take longer, but your stuff should move.

Note that when selling on the market, you won’t be notified that your stuff has sold. You just need to check the Pick Up tab. (This surprised me, as I thought my stuff had just vanished.)

NEVER SELL COLLECTIBLES TO A VENDOR! You may not want that stuff for cooking, but folks who craft with it will pay good hard cash for it, and typically more than a vendor will. The trick is to remember that they prefer to buy large stacks of it.

You won’t be making the big bucks til you hit level 80, and you’re able to aim for your permanent gears.
My way is no where near easy but it will get you a solid and constant income (One week I was able to save up enough to purchase a tier 3 cultural armor piece for 20 gold)
Once you hit level 80:
+Buy level 80 gears with Magic Find (Doesn’t have to be exotic or anything, just has to support you for PvE)
+Upgrade trinkets with Magic Find %
+Upgrade armors and trinkets with Magic Find sigils and runes
+Buy or craft Magic Find food items (best one I’ve heard of is +40% magic find)
+Buy a weapon with the best DPS output (for me, it was the greatsword)

Then after preparations are complete, you find an area with lots of monsters to farm (Sorry but I’m keeping mine a secret, but you’ll find a good one if you look hard enough in level 80 areas).

Farming will get you a good flow of income, and it’ll just get better with more magic find. I also do dynamic events which has a lot of monsters (Usually a defending type event like the prequest to the dungeon Citadel of Flame).

TIP ABOUT THE TRADING POST: Contrary to what the others have said about most items can sell for more than vendor price… the hard truth is, most of the items you get will be listed as 1 copper more than vendor price. DON’T SELL ON TP, because there are sale and listing charges! (15% if I recall… correct me if I’m wrong)
Only sell when the profit is worth your while.

Hope this helps!

I’m glad that people are explaining this. It annoys me to no end to farm a mat only to be unable to sell it for a profit in the TP because people sell it for 1c more then vendor price. There are enough money drains we don’t need player ignorance contribute to it.

It’s worth noting, however, that for sufficiently cheap items sold in bulk, 1c over vendor will still give you a profit. (Basically, if the vendor price is 5c or less, which it is for a lot of raw materials.)

This will sounds silly.
But the best way to make gold is to not spend it.
Sell. Sell. Sell.

All of those resources you gather along the way as you quest. They sell. Unless your planning on crafting.

The best method I have is to gather raw materials and sell them, the gathering tools are cheap and you can make a decent profit.

You dont really need allot of gold, the best(looking) armors you can get from dungeons. Maybe you need some for crafting. You do need gold ofcourse if you want to buy T2/3 cultural armor or any of the armor of the 3 orders.

Um how does that work after the fees?

a: don’t use waypoints unless you are defeated. Always walk to the nearest town and use an asuragate.

Really? I can make up for my travels with 1- 3 items So if the 2 silver it cost for me to travel to an area I want to farm saves me 30 mins of run time then it is money will spent

b: Set goals and keep to it. I mean look at what you want to buy and don’t spent money on anything else till you have it.

good point I use the deposit feature in my bank so I never carry more than a gold on me. It helps me remain disciplined

c: sell on the TP instead to the merchant, many times you can get a better price on the tradepost.

Careful on this one. Trading Post is where you can lose money, not much but if 30 second of running get you more money why not. For example 1 silver item cost 5 copper to list and 10 copper to sell. So where you would have gotten 1 silver from a merchant you net 85 copper from the trading post.

Note from the wiki: Purchases on the trading post must be made using coin and there are two fees applied to sales: 5% of the asking price to list and a 10% tax on purchase.

However if you are in the field and you need to free up bag space sell and continue your farming.

d: don’t be greedy nor jealous on what someone else has but be happy with what you have yourself.

great point

Not in my experience (not that is saying everything). I actually use the trip for farming, I have 3 sets of gathering tools (1 set equiped, the other two in my bags), So I can always farm crafting mat nodes whenever I see them. So instead of spending silver I’m making money. I mostly use the run itself for farming material nodes and when I arrive I deposit the mats in the bank and I start playing what I am playing.

Between the lines was another nice way of making money. If you are mining copper, use copper mining picks. They are cheaper and so you get more profit. Like I said, I carry three sets with me. one for the lowest area’s, one for the medium, and one for the high end area.

Personally, suggest getting some magic find gear to boost the quality of items you get from mobs…

then find Dynamic Event hotspots. The more people there – the more enemies – the more drops. Frequency is important but if you’re soloing it does no good to stay there since fewer enemies will spawn with each wave than more active regions.

Then, make sure to tag all the enemies. 1 attack on each may not be enough to get credit when it goes down… so make sure you do enough to recieve credit – but make sure you hit everything otherwise you’ll not be getting a lot of drops.

People say you have to do events in Cursed shore to get gold… tis only a half truth. Ever since I was level 53 I was making 1.25 gold a day in Sparkfly Fen and if you choose to do events there you’ll likely catch the dragon spawn in map chat and be able to get decent rewards so long as you participate enough in that fight.

Um how does that work after the fees?

If you buy 100 of an item at 3c and sell it at 4c, you’ll spend 3s and get 4s*.85=3.4s, for a profit of 40c per 100 units.

Sure, it’s not a lot of profit, and items selling that low usually do so because no one wants them so they don’t move all that fast, but it is still some profit.

Edit: in terms of vendor prices, this means that you’ll make 0.4c per item more selling on the TP than you would selling to a vendor.

Vendor / profit per 100 units at 1c over vendor on the TP
1c / 70c
2c / 55c
3c / 40c
4c / 25c
5c / 10c
——
6c / -5c

Crafting earn great money too. For a long while Explorer’s equipment was selling for 25s or so a piece with only a 10s buy-in cost if you didn’t want to collect materials on your own. Now it’s been devalued, but the cost of Berserker equipment is rising in cost to replace it, already at 20s+ for the most expensive items.

equip a weapon set that can do mass aoe on short cooldown. For a guardian, sceptre & torch or hammer with 4 second cd aoe leap attack.

Go farm event chains in Cursed Shore. It’s mind numbing but is very lucrative. If you’re lucky with drops, it can be 1G+ per/hr. If not, you’ll still end up making 70 silver+ per/hr.

just spam the mobs with aoe. profit.
