So if you did not play GW1 you cant access the Hall of Monuments as a GW2 player? and in my rangers case be allowed to charm some pets like the Black widow?

Hall of Monuments is tied to all your titles and achievements you gained while playing GW1.

So GW2 players who did not play GW1 are SOL then I assume?

I believe so, yes.

I played a lot of GW1 and have a majority of the rewards in the Hall of Monuments. It’s very cool to see those in GW2 for my characters.

Pretty much, but you can still earn those rewards from GW1 should you choose to do so.

Also keep in mind that you need the eye of the north expansion to get access to the hall of monuments.

You aren’t SOL since you can play GW1 and get HoM rewards just like the players now have done to earn those rewards.

GW1 is an excellent game (Frankly, I wish they didn’t cease making expansions for it).
