Hall of Monuments worth it ?
Unless you cranked out a lot of effort to get the achievements for Hall of Heroes in GW1? Not really, it was mostly vanity items if I remember right, like minipets and such.
Have you seen the rewards? Only you can really decide if they are worth the effort.
Depending on how much you have in GW1 and how many points you want it could be a relatively painless thing or require a month+ of grind.
I think so. Some of those item skins are really good. I love the felblade and fiery dragon sword. I still use the felblade skin on my lvl 80 ranger.
I’m 50/50 in the Hall of Monuments and the answer to this is still exactly what it was on the day that the HoM was announced. If you’re playing GW1, having fun, enjoying the game and the people that you’re playing with then it’s worth it. If you didn’t have a great time before then it’s safe to say that it isn’t worth it. It’s just skins, and some of the requirements are pretty involved.
More than anything else I use my portal stone as an AFK fort. If I have to be away for a bit I’ll activate the portal stone and go to the HoM, when I’m back to playing I’ll hit the stone again and be right back in the world. It’s worthwhile to note that it doesn’t matter if you played GW1 at all, you can get the stone for this from a vendor in Lions Arch.

Mostly true…you don’t need to have played GW1 but you need to have at least owned it as well as the Eye of the North expansion in order for this merchant to have the stones available for purchase. Otherwise, he just has cooking mats.
The Hammer skin makes my Norn Warrior ever so jelly.
I want it. Badly.
Do you even lift, bro?
I still need one more point for shoulder armor and I absolutely hate GW1. It’s time to start scheming.

I have a guildie that told me the exact same thing. But, when I took him to the vendor he got the stone and now uses it regularly.

I just went to that vendor (2 minutes ago) and sure enough…no stone.
FYI: I have played GW1 and have linked accounts but never owned EoN.
That’s strange as I’ve never played GW1 or owned it, and the stone was available for me last I checked (I’ve used the stone, but the place was rather boring without much added). I think it was in a different tab at the vendor though.
I’ve gotten a lot of use from my HoM items and I expect to use them a lot more in the future. The skins are really nice, especially at lower levels where any variety is welcome. And I love the Orrian Baby Chicken.
It’s especially nice for me because I don’t feel like I really had to put any effort into getting them. I loved GW1 (still do) and the only things I got for the HoM that I wouldn’t have bothered with otherwise are a few Destroyer weapons and the Vabbi armor.

I stand corrected. Sorry about the confusion as I must have missed the other tab the first time I went there. I have gone back and bought the stone and used it so what others are saying is correct and I’m an idiot.
Thanks for all the insight.
Do I at least get credit for admitting that I was wrong?

You don’t need a stone for an AFK fort. Just click the crossed swords in the upper left and click “enter the Heart of the Mists”, and go AFK. When you’re back, click the crossed swords and click “leave the Heart of the Mists”, and you’ll be back where you were.
