Any harvesting routes you guys may take to find certain things? i farm timberline falls for platinum ore and obviously running around Orr… wondering if theres any other place worth farming
I used to run Southsun regularly. You can get through the whole zone in 20 minutes or less since its tiny, and you get Passiflora and Passion Fruit in addition to 3 Ori nodes (assuming you can get past the champ karka at the top of the nest) and 2 Ancient Wood nodes.
I haven’t much as of late, but that’s mostly because I haven’t been playing GW2 quite as much and have been doing more SW and story stuff than harvesting.
Mount Maelstrom for platinum. i take murkvale WP (Southwesternmost WP) circle around the southside then move north hitting all nodes all the way up to the NW side of map. There is always a rich node north of the ruins in the Criterion Canyon. I then WP to the Old Sledge Site WP. I explore the area around the golem spawn location (including the hylek camp). then i go to the sunken droknah (directly NW of golem spawn) for another rich node. Ive seen 3 rich nodes in one run before (usually another near criterion ruins or another north of golem spawn point). I normally get 60+ platinum from this run and it takes about 20-30 mins (i should time it). You should also find several banyan sapplings as well.
Brisbane Wildlands, go to Proxemics Lab WP. There is a rich iron node, guarenteed, and at least 5 other rocks (usually iron) in the valley east of the WP.
WvW borderlands, ironicly enough, have several spots where rich nodes can appear. i check around south of the citidel, most specifically around/between the keeps and the 3 southern camps. I have seen 6 rich nodes (silver, iron, gold) in one map before although 2-4 is more common with silver being the most common rich node i find.
Southsun Cove is a great place for elder/ancient and mithril/ori. These show up in abundance on the west side, while the east side has more passion fruits

I do runs thru Malchors and Cursed Shore (and back).
If you are running Timberline, the Hardwood is more profitable than Platinum (so gather both).
Doing Events, Chests and gathering in Silverwastes (and Dry Top) are profitable.
I also do Softwood / Iron runs from North Exit of Metrica (FE waypoint) thru Brisbane to the Kessex Hills exit then across Kessex to Gandaran to LA.
Frostgorge Sound is always a good place to harvest but the lack of decent node locating tools (or at least updated IP maps) makes gathering a much more difficult task than in pre-MegaServer days….. Gone are the days of running 8 characters to the same Ori and Ancient nodes in a matter of an hour while being able to do it day after day between patches….sigh

I often go to the northeast portion of Blazeridge Steppes to farm kale and chili peppers (which drop from all herb nodes in all of Ascalon). You also find lots of iron nodes in that section.
