PVE ONLY

I have bounced clear across the board of the professions not getting the majority of them above level 10 and only getting one to level 30 which was a FT using Engineer, now some of you might say, “Well since you got your Engineer to 30 you should play an Engineer”! Well the dilemma with that was that I grew tired of him and felt like there was something else that would grant me more entertainment.

So I am here asking you all to spend sometime and brainstorm what might be the BEST fit for my needs and goals as a player, please?

Here is the rundown on what I am looking for:

• Ranged DPS (Preferably something that runs good with going Crit HEAVY.)
• Survivability (I can’t stand being some paper thin, squishy doll that mobs will just toss aside in a few hits.)
• Farming and Event Tagging (I want to be able to tag well in events and be able to farm.)
• Dungeons (I want to be useful in dungeons, and hold my own, you know so I feel like I am contributing towards the groups victory.)
• Ease of use and Leveling speed (I don’t necessarily mean faceroll, but I don’t want to be pulling my hair out either, and ofcoarse I don’t want something that is Mission Impossible when leveling, something that has a good pace in completing tasks and getting exp.)

Honestly? I found all that in a thief

Ranged DPS: Showtbow (primary leveling weapon for me from 1-80)

Survive: Stealth resets mobs on too large of pulls. Death Blossom is a built in bleed + Evasion, Caltrops on roll + Shortbow range. etc etc. VERY flexible in that regard.

Dungeons: Shortbow or Pistol/Dagger (for range and cloak and dagger if they get too close for insta stealth). Both are decent DPS for dungeons. Plus poison share and short bows poison arrow targeted AoE is a combo effect.

Farming event tagging: Short bow hits 3 targets on it’s auto attack. Has 2 targeted AoE’s as well to lay on the ground. one of which enables bleeds if you explode it in air.

Ease and leveling speed. Speaking of speed, thief has a 25% speed signet. Highest in the game

Thief’s Dagger/Dagger is kitten nice DPS, shortbow isnt a slouch and P/D or even D/P kills as fast as you can keep up with.

I rolled a necro to 27, then a guardian to 50, before finally rolling my thief and getting it to 80. Yea, it’s that sweet.

But it all boils down to you, really. However, thief in my opinion fits what you’re looking for to a tee.

I have one of each class and the 2 I keep going back to more regularly is my engineer and my mesmer. I do play all of them though…but lately those are my 2 favorites.

Especially my Greatsword mesmer. I switch the Mesmer to dual swords occasionally. Mostly because I just like the idea and look of it. Its not a particularly effective weapon duo, but its just fun.

Get enough phantasms out there and you got bleedin army on your side. Only level 20 presently.

Given your prerequisites I would say Ranger is what your looking for, I’m currently leveling one and it seems to fit all your criteria.
