Well dual wielding pistols seems to be pretty good but I haven’t played a Thief yet. For PvE and suvivability, the ranger is really good

I’ve been playing Ranger in PVE and feel like a demigod (with my pets of course)

Try all of the weapon sets available for your chosen profession. Imo, this is the best way to find a weapon set and skill set that will eventually be your favorite. You get to choose.

I use mostly a Short Bow and switch to Long Bow and back and forth. I put max trait points into Beast master. I use mostly a wolf and bear for pets.
