Heavy armor look
I think the heavy armor looks best on males, and large ones at that. I’m female so I have 4 female toons but decided to make one male JUST because I wanted some good looking heavy armor (made a guardian). However, even though I made my male human as big as possible, he still seems to be overpowered by his armor, which looks way too massive for his body. Roll a male norn and you’ll get the “right” heavy armor look.

On the other hand back on topic… If yo
u want a more full, plate knight like heavy armor where the entire character is covered you’re better off making a male. If you want heavy armor but with some skin showing than go with the female.
As far as animations I actually prefer a Charr over human. The animations fit better to my tastes. You can youtube animations and skills for each race and gender if you want to see them without having to make tons of new chars.
I have a female Norn with heavy armor and the primeval skins from the gem store. She’s not muscled but she’s tall. The armor looks pretty good to me. Big huge Norns are tough to move around and see around. Before you create the Hulk, think about where you are going to be playing, big, wide toons are a pain to climb or jump to vistas with.

Has a list for all armors in the game (I think). There may be some pvp armor that can be found by random merchants in pve, so check that out too.
