Hello to all and nice to meet you!

My name is Doombringer BG, I recently joined this community.
I’m downloading the game as we speak and I thought I’d ask some questions whose answers I wasn’t able to find my self.

Question #1:

I’m thinking of starting as a Norn Ranger. Is it possible to create my character in a way that I can switch between weapons but become sort of Tanky when I do?

For example, I’m doing some damage to mobs and suddenly I find myself surrounded by a lot of them. I’d like to switch to a, let’s say, a Big sword of some sort and use skills that would let me go through them without dying.

I was thinking of playing a Ranger/Guardian, but then I found out I could not have 2 professions at the same time on the same character.

Basically I was hoping to be able to switch between them at any given time, but, oh well…..

That’s pretty much the play style I’m looking for if it’s even possible and efficient, of course.

Question #2

Regarding the future expansion that is coming, I stumbled upon a video on YouTube, which name unfortunately I am unable to recall at the time, where the commentator mentioned that there would be an option for guilds to build their own house.

Now, if I am unable to purchase said expansion, what would happen if I were to try and enter a guild vicinity? Would I even see it?

P.S. I humbly apologize if my questions are not for this topic and need to be relocated.

While in combat, a ranger swapping weapons, example: longbow to greatsword, grants him the 5 skills for greatsword rather than the 5 for longbow. Look on the wiki for the skills involved.

Outside of combat, you can reselect your traits or swap out a different armor set to switch from a tankier build to a DPS build, for example.

You can be fairly certain that Guild Halls will be instanced. What that means for guildies who don’t have the expansion — nobody knows yet.

1. Yes Ranger can use greatsword. It’s quite a good weapon for groups and it’s got some good defensive skills (2 evades and 1 block).

2. We’re not sure at the moment I don’t think the information on guild halls has been released beyond – “You’re getting guild halls”.
