I did not see a newbie forum, so I decided I should make my introduction here. My game is downloading as I type this so I have been familiarizing myself with the game. I would definitely welcome any suggestions and tips you may have to offer me.

That’s what I did and I’m totally glad that I did, since if I had read these forums first (while some of the negativity here is indeed constructive criticism, much of it is just from negative nellies), I likely wouldn’t have given this game a chance.

Ah, thank you for your replies. Btw, seeing as I am new, I might not be familiar with all the various acronyms and terminology. I imagine I will be learning that as i play, but I will also pay a visit to that forum as well.

Play and level with someone,make some friends and youl have a great time leveling up and learning while doing so.

If you find a word or item in game and you do not know what it means just type /wiki and the thing you are looking for example “/wiki charr” and it will open your default browser with information on the subject. You can find guilds to join here: www.gw2guilds.org

I don’t know if this will suit your gaming style but here is what I did. Only read enough of the documentation to choose your race and class. If you are going to do crafting check which 2 make sense for you. Read the keyboard layout sheet. Start the game and figure it out as you go. Only read the forums and wiki after you are sure it won’t reveal anything you don’t already know. GW2 as a voyage of discovery so to speak.

Welcome! GW2 is a fantastic game, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! It is a little bit different than other MMOs, so you might find that GW2 takes some getting used to.
