Are there any shoulder or helm armor pieces that have no level req. like the whites you can get on TP or from merchants. I’m trying to find some to Transmute onto that a lvl 1 (or 2, after the intro story mission) can use. Preferably something that doesn’t also Soulbind on use.

Got the other armor pieces just fine as you can just get those easily from a merch. or Tp but can’t seem to find any helm/shoulders other than the starter ones and those are soulbound and can only have one or the other. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t overlook something.

I doubt you’re overlooking anything. I’ve looked into it for keyfarming, but so far only account-bound shoes/leggings/gloves/top seem to be available with no level requirement.

If I’m wrong, please someone point it out, it will greatly help my keyfarming. ^^

You can get those by using a transmutation splitter on items with certain skins. The armor chest from the digital deluxe upgrade also includes a full set of armor with no level requirements in addition to the skins.

Ah, crap my digital Deluxe I chose med. armor and I wanted it for heavy armor so that doesn’t help me. =( Mind elaborating on witch skins to use the splitter on? Thanks tho; that was a good idea with the DD armor thing.

If you’re talking heavy armor, you get a starter item, your choice of helm or shoulders. I think you should be able to make an alt to select one of those, then transmute the higher level skin onto it.

The problem is swapping it to the main character, since likely it’s still soulbound until you put it on an actual tradeable white item. But at least you could use your starter item on your main and not worry that you’re losing -that- skin because when the main is higher level you can use the alt creation trick to regain the skin.

The person who mentioned the splitter originally said it was the Hall of Monuments skins but I think it should be whatever item you see when you preview the skin. If you hover over the slot in the preview window it will show an actual item. That item should be what you get back if you use a splitter.

By the way if this is for key farming you don’t need these two pieces. Even on a guardian with a mace just the 4 pieces with garnet pebbles plus rough sharpening stone and grilled steaks it is more than enough to just mow through things.
