Guild Wars 2

New player here. I’m trying to decide on what should be my first main character. I’ve tried all of them out till around level 15, and the only ones I don’t like are necro and ranger. I’m trying to decide between Guardian, Ele, or Thief.

My main playstyle is PvE and some super casual PvP. Guardian seems nice for beginners, but possibly too simple? Forums make thieves sound kinda pointless for pve aside from providing stealth? And Ele just sounds like flavor of the month even though I do enjoy the staff playstyle.

Well in my opinion the guardian is a tough class to master…
You have a really low HP (and heavy armor).
You have to do a lot of stuff, give aegis, make sure you applied quickness, use the symbols to inrease the dps.
I love the guardian, but it is the class where i press the more buttons on the keyboards XD.

If you want to start, i’d suggest warrior.
You will learn the basics of the game with him.
And when you become a more experienced player you will go meta with the phalanx build and be one of the most usefull tool for your group in a dungeon or fractal or raid.

Thief is cool, but you have to know your stuff because even tho he deals high damage he is really squishy. But you’ll have fun with him.

Out of my 5 characters, thief is the most fun by far.
You have to be on point though. There is nothing inherent to the class that makes higher level pve safe for a thief.
