Help Me decide my first profession to level
For PvP you do not have to level up at all.
Any profession you find interesting is easy to level up, any that you are bored with is grindy. Guardians are tough after the first bit, Necros and rangers have little helpers.
I would advice against any of those 4 to be honest. You literally picked my top 4 of most boring classes in the game.
If i had to choose between those 4 id say warrior or necro. Both are really easy to play but warrior is stronger in pvp overall atm. So i guess id go for warrior.
oh please 90% of people here will tell you to go warrior or re-roll a warrior. =/
ooooohhhpeeeee
Yeah warriors seem pretty good right now, the only thing holding me back from guardian is the damage they do, i prefer a character with a good amount of burst, how are thiefs?
Thieves are good or even top tier atm.. Mechanically quite simple, but relatively hard to master since one tiny mistake can mean that you die. So you need to be really thoughtfull with your positioning and decisionmaking.
They are really strong in pvp atm mostly due to their mobility. They fulfill the role of roamer. A role that switches fast between assisting teamfights, killing other roamers and pushing far points.

I would go Necro (I always go Necro, lol). PvP is great for condition damage builds, and Necros can apply so many conditions it’s almost silly. They also have great condition removal (not as good as, say, Eles, but it’s up there) and they have control, sustain etc, depending on set up. They aren’t the most powerful, but in PvP you don’t necessarily need it if you can build for conditions. It’s probably the only area of the game where condition really does the damage you want it to. Death Shroud is also very powerful when used correctly and is a source of extra sustain so you can be very tanky. It is, however, very difficult to disengage from a fight with a Necro, so if you commit you really have to go for it.
Necros are sort of the exact opposite to Guardians. Guardians apply boons like crazy, Necros apply conditions – and they have a great well that converts conditions on you into boons, and another well that converts boons on an enemy to conditions (if you like wells and you are facing off against a Guardian).
Rangers are pretty strong in PvP right now. Spirits make you very hard to kill and allow high DPS, and you can also really lay out condition damage if you want to. You have access to a lot of evades and of course, if you know how to use it properly, your pet.
Warriors are, well, Warriors, lol. I don’t have a ton of experience on the Warrior class, so I can’t really cite too many pros and cons. We all know about the DPS damage on a Warrior, but you can also build for condition if you want, or healing on your shouts. You’ll be fairly tanky if you don’t run full Berserker, and you have good mobility. That’s pretty much all I can offer for that class, however.
Rangers are very weak but warriors are good
I would not suggest a Ranger or Necro. That aren’t in high demand in many parts of the game because as professions they need improvement. Ranger in particular needs the most work. Warrior is a strong profession but also fluctuates a lot between being OPed and getting nerfed.
I suggest a Guardian. Firstly, Guardians are sought after in every bit of the game, from PvE to sPvP to WvW. They are a versatile profession. They are also great as a first character because they have (arguably) the most survivability in the game. It means you can get some slack if you make a few mistakes your first time round. Also don’t listen to people who say playing a Guardian is boring, I find it to be a very dynamic profession. Once you get the gist of it (which is easy I admit) you can play around with it in so many different ways.
Ultimately I suggest rolling a character for each profession and trying them out in PvP to get a feel for them. Then pursue the profession you enjoy most. At the end of the day thats the important thing and I don’t think you should set yourself on any profession without testing out others.
