My character is level 80 engineer. I have over 30 levels without a single trait added. I have the Master and Grand Master books in my inventory and am unable to use them. I know that I reconfigured using the Master book earlier. I am getting frustrated. Have I made some error or is this game related. It does not make sense that I can’t level up the traits even after level 80. Please help. Thanks.

There are 3 trait tiers. The first tier is unlocked with an Adept Book, the second with a Master Book, and the third with a Grandmaster Book. How many tiers you managed to unlock so far? How many points can you put at max in a single trait line (for example Explosives)? From what I read, I understand you successfully used the Master book, and you should have 2 tiers unlocked. In theory, nothing would stop you to use the Grandmaster book now, you should’ve been able to use it since level 60. If this is indeed the case, then the only conclusion would be that you are bugged. Go to a trainer, make him reset your points and see if you can then use the Gm book. Maybe that works.

AFAIK, Once you hit 80, you stop earning trait points. The max you will get is 70 trait points to spend building your character.

The only points you keep earning as you level up beyond 80 are the skill points.

Can confirm it 100% for you, once you hit level 80 you stop earning trait points. This is to make you pick where to spend your points. You can refund your points and spend them again if you visit your class trainer and pay a small fee.

After 80 you will continue to earn skill points as these are used as a currency towards mystic forge recipe materials.
