Guild Wars 2

So I missed pretty much this entire Lost Shores event. I’ve heard of these dungeons, but have no idea how to get started. Everyone is looking for FotM level 2+. I assume that I start at FotM level 1 and work up from there, but I can never find a ‘starter’ group.

How do these dungeons work, and what do I need to do to get started?

I’d firstly recommend reading over the wiki article on the Fractals, as well as the pages over the nine individual fractals. That should get you familiar with the tactics required to cross each one.

To build on that, I’ll emphasize that the Fractals rely even more heavily upon teamwork and coordination than most other dungeons- often, the difficulty isn’t in the dungeon itself, but in keeping order in the party. If one person dies, he or she cannot revive unless rezzed by someone or unless the entire party wipes, and there is no way to repair gear between sets. There’s also a heavy emphasis on reflexes and jumping coordination in certain sections. If at all possible, run with guildmates and friends. If you can’t find a beginner party, you can try calling for one in Lion’s Arch, but be warned that the majority of novice players will get shredded upon their first tries, if they do not take the time to learn.

I’m probably making the whole thing sound scarier than it is, but from my experience, it’s always better to go in extra nervous and alert than uninformed.
