Help me chose profession please!
I want to say warrior, but for some reason I got the feeling you’d be happier with a thief.
You can customize your warrior in many ways, with many different weapons but a warrior is always very obvious about what he is doing in my opinion.
Thief has a much lower survivability (when it gets targeted and doesn’t avoid/dodge the damage) but it is so much more versatile. My first toon was a thief and I still love him.
Why not try a couple of classes for a couple of hours and see if you see how you feel about it ? Best way to have no regrets.
Also a good tip to get an idea of how the class will behave is to hop in the PVP zone (available from the UI tool bar that is the topleft corner of your screen) called Mists, and there your character will be upscaled immediately to level 80. There you can also edit your spec/build freely and you can test it on various NPC dummies (some even come with the basic AI of other classes you can get a very basic idea of what you will be facing).
Hope this helps and welcome back to GW2
Warrior or guardian.
Warrior or thief. Damage guardians are not that great.
For the sake of your sanity, don’t go Engineer.
Try elementalist they have everything.
Level 80 Engineer here…solo’d except for joining DE’s where I found them. Most fun I’ve had leveling with any profession so far. Rifle / Static build, no kitten turrets. But so many ways to play a class…most challenging
I may make another one.
Raf Longshanks-80 Norn Guardian / 9 more alts of various lvls / Charter Member Altaholics Anon
I would recommend warrior. High survivability, high sustained DPS, and low skill ceiling.
I found warrior play style boring, which makes me like ele more. Faster ‘twitch’ reaction needed, very versatile, decent variety in builds.
The question was MOST options. Warrior is the last class he should play for that. Guardian and Thief don`t have many options either. Seriously, don`t listen to these people.
Elementalist, Engineer and Mesmer (in no particular order) have the most options always.
