Guild Wars 2

So I want to start a new character but I can’t decide between ranger and thief. I mostly play PvE and a little bit of WvW so I want the class that’s better in these areas.

I know it’s all up to preference but if you had decide to include a thief or a ranger in your party which one would you choose?

They are very different in how they play. I have both at 80 and find ranger a breeze but thief is OK but it don’t trust my ability with it. Sorry to say but you need to play them and decide.

go thief, get a group of thief also mixtured with a few mesmers.

Ranger is awesome for PvE, especially solo. Thief is good too because they have some great escape capabilities if you bite off more than you can chew in both PvE and WvW. Rangers you have to be careful in dungeons sometimes especially. Your pet is clumsy and sometimes it starts a boss fight before everyone’s ready or it ruins a cloak of shadows from a thief, etc.

I play Ranger and am having a really fun time…. The pet can be a help but as Woljnir says they some times will start a bit of trouble.. Still it is a great class to play…
