Just going to throw out some highlights of my play style, let me know what class best fits
1.Team buffs/heals
2. Moves fast
3. Plays dirty (can have a lot of CC if traited correctly)
4. gotta have strong burst

Dont focus too much on 1 weapon set though, try all variations.

Remember that elementarist is very squishy and d/d needs you to stay at really close range, so you must be good at dodging, you should use earth elemental (glyph and elite), and blast into fire fields (with the utility arcane wave and the healing skill arcane brilliance) to empower your damage with might boons.
Elementarist can use also Scepter and Staff but they’re no so good for levelling, they’ve too much abilities which need the enemy to stay still, but the enemies chase you!!
You could try also a Focus, but it’s a mostly defensive weapon.

After 15 levels of playing d/d elementalist, I actually do enjoy it quite a bit more than I have ever enjoyed my previous class choice! (Which was engineer)

Level 36 now, thank you so much for recommending D/D Elementalist, I’ve really got a groove with signets and conjured weapons going now! LOVE IT
Glad to see you’re enjoying the elementalist class Once you start entering dungeons however you should try out the S/F or Staff for group heals buffs and blocks.
You can also go as a front-liner dps/healer using a cleric set-up and signet of restoration. But in PVP the signet of restoration is pretty much useless
